Applicants are encouraged to contact the Admissions Office for an evaluation of their transcripts to be sure all necessary pre-pharmacy requirements can be completed. An early evaluation will provide applicants needing to complete pre-pharmacy courses the opportunity to make changes in their fall/spring schedules if necessary. Contact the Admissions Office at COPAdmissions@uams.edu.

PharmCAS Application Deadline

March 1, 2017

Applicants are encouraged to apply and take the PCAT exam well in advance of the March 1, 2017 deadline as the UAMS College of Pharmacy admits on a rolling basis.

Supplemental Application

Applicants selected for interview will be contacted with the supplemental application material information by the admissions office when their application is complete and verified in PharmCAS and their application has been reviewed.

Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT)

Registration and scheduling opened March 1, 2016. All applicants for the fall 2016 class must present PCAT scores taken January 2013 or later. Apply online to take the PCAT – www.pcatweb.info. Results must be sent to PharmCAS (code 0104) and to UAMS College of Pharmacy (code 0004). Check the PCAT website for information on taking the Official PCAT Practice Test. We will accept scores from the January 2017 PCAT exam.

Fall 2017

In an effort to notify applicants more quickly of their admission status, the College will begin reviewing complete and verified PharmCAS applications according to the following schedule:

October 2016 – Early Decision and Regular Decision Interview Dates and Admissions Committee meetings scheduled as necessary

January thru early April 2017 – Interview Dates and Admissions Committee meetings scheduled as necessary

Some letters of acceptance will be mailed after the fall 2016 Admissions Committee meetings. Applicants not admitted at the fall meeting/s will be considered again in subsequent meetings. Final admissions and alternate list decisions will be made at the April 2017 meeting. Applicant folders will be updated between meetings as fall 2016 grades and additional PCAT scores arrive. To be considered at the fall Admissions Committee meeting/s, applicants will need to have taken the PCAT between January 2013 and November 2016. March consideration will include results of the January 2017 PCAT.

Applicants should include their fall 2016 and spring 2017 course schedule in PharmCAS if enrolled, regardless if the courses are not necessary to meet the pre-pharmacy requirements. All applicants will be required to update their fall 2016 grades in PharmCAS in December/January update period. Since admission decisions include consideration of the applicant’s enrollment in fall 2016/spring 2017 coursework, applicants are expected to complete the planned coursework to avoid any jeopardy of their status.
