 At the completion of this CPE activity, participants were be able to:

  • Review oral medications used for treatment of diabetes
  • Explain how to effectively combine oral diabetes medications for optimal results
  • Discuss insulins and non-insulin injectable medications used for treatment of diabetes
  • Differentiate between the action profiles of insulins and options for combining them in treatment
  • Determine when it is appropriate to add insulin to an oral medication regimen
  • Sharpen patient education counseling skills by practicing use of insulin syringes and bottles, insulin pens and other injectable devices.
