The Fellowship in Pediatric Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infectious Diseases is a 2-year program that is designed to provide the fellow with clinical, research, and teaching skills so that upon completion the fellow will be prepared to help initiate or add to existing antimicrobial stewardship programs with their future employment. Through participation in teaching, research, and antimicrobial stewardship certificate programs, fellows will further develop their communication and research skills and teaching abilities. Fellows will be exposed to antimicrobial stewardship both locally at ACH and nationally through SHARPS (Sharing Antimicrobial Reports for Pediatric Stewardship) Collaborative. Support will also be given for the fellow to take additional courses through the UAMS College of Public Health that could lead to a Master’s degree.

Additional responsibilities/projects throughout the year include:

• Pharmacy Staffing
– 1 weekend/month during 1st year

• Therapeutic Drug Monitoring/Call Service
– 1 weekend/month during 1st year
– 1-2 weekends/month during 2nd year
– Includes a major holiday and minor holiday weekend each year

• Therapeutics Recitation and PBL Pediatrics and ID Electives


Each resident will receive:

  • Competitive annual stipend
