Background

The PGY2 Geriatric Pharmacy Practice Residency through the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Pharmacy provides the resident with diverse learning opportunities in the field of geriatric pharmacotherapy and academia. The resident gains experience in a variety of settings afforded by the UAMS Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging, including ambulatory care, acute care on the Geriatric Consult Team, House Calls, Palliative and Hospice Care, and Long Term Care. The resident will precept pharmacy students, teach in a variety of courses throughout the pharmacy curriculum, and have ample opportunities to teach other health care professionals. Upon successful completion of the program, residents are awarded a Residency Certificate.
